Energis is recruiting for a Process Engineer on behalf of our manufacturing client based in North Down . The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for continuous improvement, and ideally experience within the plastics or a related manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with maintenance and tooling teams to optimise equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications where appropriate.
- Work closely with the Quality team to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards while maintaining strict manufacturing tolerances.
- Deliver training and support to production teams on lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Partner with R&D, Engineering, and Production teams to support new product introduction, process validation, and ongoing manufacturing improvements.
Essential Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Process Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering and manufacturing software, such as CAD, ERP systems, or process simulation tools.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience within the plastics, polymers, extrusion, or related manufacturing industries.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
